ausweikis It would appear to me that many members of this forum are Linguists. If you are can you tell us something about your background and interest in the subject.

While at university I studied Computational Linguistics as an option and learnt the basics of Formal Grammars. When time permits I write Chatterbots!

Saūlis Klākis No, I am not Linguist. I work in geodesy, my studies were about
meliorations. But, I am on spiritual paths of Slavs, Prusians, animists and shamans, for many years..This is my way of life. I know, my prussian is bad, but I am on this land, I hear voices of trees, hills, ancestors, and for me it is not only a exaltation...
It is practices, daily practices...
I say now : As asma Prus...And only Glabbis can say:Arth or Saulis, its wrong write...
But I love it, Gods, land culture, believs, I am here like from beginning...

Mānts No, I am a programmer, but I have a strong interest in Baltic culture and history. But I read linguistic books, so I have some base in it.

Bonkajs My answer is: NO
I am engineer (geology) with Geography degree (University of Latvia).
When i was thinking about university faculty to join my thoughts stay at the soft sciences (like history) and geography, but I choose second, therefore I have interest in Baltic history as a hobby.

Nērtiks Also NO

I work as a physicists, have a degree in physics and mathematics. Your linguistics, Ausweikis, is rather mathematical, is't it?

Yes I would agree. My interest in Computational Linguistics is a direct result of having studied the Theory of Computation, in particular Finite State Machines and Pattern Directed Inference Systems.

Nērtiks It's rather unfamiliar to me. I think it's connected with theory of formal languages and so on. My graduate work (on mathematics) was about bifurcations in hamiltonian systems, so it's not to close to Your field.

Your area is also unfamiliar to me although like most people I read a little bit about Hamiltonian Chaos when I got bored with linear systems.

Glabbis " We must stop talking about the weather! "

- I am sure this is the most important note on this Forum!
By the way, how is your Prussian grammar?

My Prussian grammar is not very good. Mainly because I have spent the last two weeks looking for publications about the old Prussian language and its History. I have now managed to find quite a few publications which I am starting to read. The first book I am reading is "Die Preussische Sprache", by Dr. E. Berneker. By the time I have finished reading the texts listed in this book I should know some more.

Glabbis Hey, never read such books like this one!!!!
It is mostly rubbish!
You will never study Prussian if you read such books.
I can't understand, i asked you privately what is not clear. You told: pronunciation. I say: i will explain. You nothing answer. So here, as i told you we have "oral tradition" because full Prussian grammar has not still written yet. So i give you a task, you try to do it. This is the only way now. And step by step you will understand all basic rules.
So what is not clear now?

Stags Nop, i am just a student in high school...

I will let you know in about 2 weeks time when I have read some of the material I have downloaded about Prussian grammar.
